Reaction Questions
- What information/documentation is currently provided to the student and his/her family at the time the student exits secondary school through graduation with a regular diploma or by exceeding the age eligibility for FAPE? Do you believe the documentation has been useful to students, and families, and adult agency services?
- What are the advantages of a Summary of Performance for a student exiting the public education system versus a copy of the most recent IEP with evaluation results? What could be the disadvantages (for students, adult agencies, universities)?
Application Questions
- What information/documentation should be included in a summary of academic and functional performance that would be beneficial to the student and his/her future? Who would be involved in developing this summary?
- How might the information on a Summary of Performance be used by a postsecondary agency to help the student better adjust to adult life?
- How
will your district work closely with post secondary agencies to develop
a system of collaboration and partnership that will benefit children as
they move from one agency to another?
